Nestling in the lap between the Palani and Sirumalai hills on a tributary of the Cauvery River, the contemporary Dindigul city is an ancient city which is known to be ruled by the different Hindu dynasties and later by Sultanates and the Britishers. Surrounded by farm fields and lush green hills, the PSNA College of Engineering & Technology, located in the 118.52-acre campus with built up area of 1,21,452.70 sq.m. in Kothandaraman Nagar, on the Dindigul-Palani Highway - 209, 10 km from Dindigul Town, is a vibrant technical institute of higher education with world-class infrastructure and up-to-date teaching facilities. Keeping in view of Leo Tolstoy that – “The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity”, Kalvi Thanthai Late Thiru R S Kothandaraman, founded this citadel of learning with an enduring dedication to the pursuit of excellence, and to uplift the downtrodden and needy people of this part of the country during its formative period under the aegis of Sri Rangalatchumi Educational Trust established in 1984 which is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
PSNA offers 10 undergraduate programmes and 4 postgraduate programmes in Engineering, Technology, Computer Applications and Management Studies, besides Doctoral Programmes in Engineering, Technology, and Science & Humanities through recognized Research Centres of the college by Anna University, Chennai, with world of opportunities to help one grow and transform amid varied options for internal exploration and self-discovery. With ‘Trust in God’ being the sole Motto of the college, PSNA is preparing students to make meaningful contributions to society with a beacon of hope from the eternal deity ‘Pacheri Sri Nallathangal Amman’. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering established in the year 1995, is taking all efforts to meet the objectives of achieving technical excellence in the core areas of Power, Energy and Control.
Based on the infrastructure facilities and faculty strength, the department was accorded approval by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai to offer UG programme (1995) and Post Graduate programme in Power Electronics and Drives (2003). It is recognized by the Anna University, Chennai as one of the research centres to carry out research leading to PhD and M.S. degrees. UG programme was accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi in 2002 and 2006.
In the year 2013, 2021 it has obtained 5-year and 3- year NBA Accreditation status in outcome-based education respectively. Highly qualified and experienced faculty with specialization in Power Systems, Power Electronics, Applied Electronics, and Energy is carrying out active research. Energy Auditing and Management cell of this department is taking up energy auditing and consultancy work in various industries all over the country. The department has established and run the Industrial Automation Laboratory (7th of its kind in India) and Drives Laboratory (1st of its kind in India) in association with SIEMENS India. The department has also established and run the Protection and Switch Gear Laboratory in association with VOLTECH India and Embedded and IoT based learning platform to meet out the Industrial needs in association with TESSOLVE Semiconductors Pvt. Ltd.
